In the course of his research in preserved professional journals, Jim Christie found a really interesting group of articles detailing the work - over a century ago - on the aqueduct built to supply Winnipeg's municipal water.
Here are the last three articles from the series published in The Contract Record of 1917 detailing this construction.

I have tried to make the text as readable as possible. In many cases the images have been adjusted to yield more detail and they are repeated in an enlarged form after each particular page of text. The GWWD railway, which runs along the aqueduct, is marked on the 1994 provincial road map below.
