CNR 1980 Amqui, Causapscal; Employee Timetable: Matapedia, Rimouski Subs 1957; Campbellton & Edmundston Divisions: Equated Tonnage, Train Order Offices

Both steam and diesel equated tonnage ratings are included below as are their speed limits. I don't know if this was the case for the CNR, but CPR 'Pusher Grades' referred to the general use of helpers - not literally engines pushing at the rear of the train.

With all the detail shown in the timetables and in the list of operating hours for the train order offices, one can imagine operations in the late steam era.

These snapshots were taken while returning from a vacation trip in October 1980.

from: Canada, Descriptive Atlas; 1933; Government of Canada.

If you look between the U and E in Quebec in the map above, you'll find those two stations.

Campbellton is at the head of the Baie de Chaleur.
The two subdivisions shown below run west from Campbellton.
The division point of Mont Joli is where the CNR reaches the St Lawrence River.

St Simon is at the left edge of the map (photo below).
The map does not show Riviere du Loup - which is farther up the St Lawrence.
