Shooting Across the Border: Port Huron Switching

In 2000, Grand Trunk Western GPR9 4629 (retired 2007) switches. It is on the far side of the St Clair River and over the international border in Michigan, USA. We are in Sarnia, Ontario. A paper mill is off-camera to the right ... off-camera to the left, the spur leads to the Port Huron yard.

Near the movement (and behind the sailboat) is the station building variously identified as Port Huron/Fort Gratiot ... or in 2021 as the Thomas Edison Depot Museum. The station was built by the Grand Trunk in 1858.
